- Stanley Park. Stanley Park, located in what Vancouverites call, “The Westend End,” is a 5km salient of beautiful forested land serving as the tail end of the city. You can drive through Stanley Park whose road is a loop that offers not only amazing views of the waterfront but also can take you to the famous Vancouver Aquarium, the marina, and the Stanley Park Teahouse. No drive through Stanley Park is complete without a stop in the parking lot at Prospect Point where you can treat yourself to a vista of North and West Vancouver over the water and nestled in among the mountains.
- Granville Island. Another waterfront location, located under the dusky shadows of Granville Bridge, Granville island has ample parking and brings you into the heart of a thriving food market, unique shopping experiences of hand crafted BC goods, and great seafood restaurants. Also, check out if it is a fireworks night if you are visiting in the summer and be sure to book parking and a table at the Dockside Restaurant and ask for a table on the water.
- Capilano Suspension B Take a drive into North Vancouver to the famous suspension bridge that will carry you across a natural gorge at the bottom of which flows a river. Parking is easy to find and this attraction is filled with much more than just bridge crossing. Once across the bridge you can move through the tree walk or walk along the water. And don’t forget to try the cliff walk, just in case you haven’t had enough vertigo for one day.
- Drive the Sea to Sky highway. I know that we usually drive to get somewhere, but the Sea to Sky highway, which will take you from Vancouver to Whistler, is like one long destination. But that is not all, the highway will carry you towards Squamish where you cruise above large crystal lakes sprawling at the foot of lofty mountains whose cascade carries on until you can no longer discern between the ice peaks and the clouds.
